WARNING: Yoga is known to cause health and happiness.

The Pop-up Yoga Company was built from the following beliefs…

  • yoga is for anyone, anywhere, anytime. Using ‘I can’t touch my toes’ as an excuse not to do yoga, is the same as saying you’re too dirty to take a shower. If you can breathe, you can do yoga.

  • yoga should be fun and it should make you feel good.

  • yoga is more than simply stretching and breathing. It’s pretty magic to be honest.

and so every class…

  • is open to everyone, not just for those who can touch their toes.

  • will leave you feeling happy and healthy.

  • teaches you much more than stretching and breathing. All classes are sympathetic to the traditional practice of yoga, but with a few modern, more creative elements for that added feel-good-factor.

Don’t just take my word for it, you can read student testimonials and reviews here. :)

…I’m Jess and I’m the face behind The Pop-up Yoga Company.

Believe it or not, I didn’t enjoy my first yoga class. Having come from an intense sporting background and grown up with a 'no pain no gain' attitude, it wasn't something that I instantly resonated with, it didn't miraculously transform my life and as I lay in my first Savasana I remember willing it to end. BUT, fast forward a few years and here I am: a Yoga Teacher!

I fell in love with yoga when I found an amazing studio, a group of talented, knowledgeable and (most importantly) smiley teachers and before I knew it I was hooked. I realised pretty quickly that yoga could be enjoyable, challenging, and strangely addictive all in one. It was a completely different experience to my first class and, as horribly cliché as it may be, it really has changed my life. A little while later I quit my career as an Event and Marketing Manager and flew to Thailand to do my teacher training. Since then I've taught around the world in places such as Thailand, Cambodia, New Zealand, Edinburgh and Switzerland.

I make sure my teaching is sympathetic to the traditional practice of yoga but I try to infuse it with fun, creativity and playfulness. I focus a lot on alignment and anatomy but in a way that relates to real everyday life and helps you to understand the less tangible spiritual, mental and emotional sides of yoga. For me, yoga is a very holistic practice and so I strongly believe these aspects are just as important as the physical movements. As cheesy as it sounds, yoga isn't just a work out, it's a work in (sorry-not-sorry).

Feel free to send me a message if you have any questions. You can also find me on Facebook and Instagram.

Please note that I teach all my classes in English.

Namaste :)
