If you have a question, you might find the answer here, if not, please feel free to send a message.

I’m a beginner, is that okay?

Absolutely! Unless stated, all classes are suitable for both beginners and the more advanced yogis because postures can be modified to suit everyone. Make it clear before class starts that you’re new so you’re well looked after. If you need more information on the different styles of yoga, you can read this guide. There’s also a dedicated class for beginners on Wednesdays 12.15 - 13.15.

What should I bring to class?

Some basic mats are provided but they’re limited so please bring yours with you if you have one. It’s also a good idea to bring some water along to hydrate after class. During winter months you might like to bring a cosy sweater/jumper and warm socks to wear for Savasana but this is optional.

What should I wear?

Something comfortable that doesn’t restrict movement. Although baggy, loose fitting clothing can be comfortable, it’s best to practice in something more form fitting so the teacher can see your alignment better. We practice yoga with bare feet so you don’t need fancy footwear. It’s a nice idea to bring something warm and cosy to wear during Savasana if it’s a little chilly outside.

Are mats and props provided?

There are a few basic mats available free of charge. It’s highly recommended that you invest in your own yoga mat if you’re enjoying your practice, as you’ll really notice the difference when you have a good quality mat. Props (straps, blocks, bolsters and blankets) are provided for all workshops and available for all classes at Maison d’Ammann. Yoga Luna is a fully equipped studio and everything is provided free of charge.

How often should I do yoga?

In general, the more you do, the better you’ll feel, but it’s entirely up to you. Once a week is a great start but over time try to build this up to two or three times so you really feel the benefits. If you can commit to 4+ times a week this is awesome and you’ll feel awesome.

Can I eat before class?

It’s recommended that you don’t eat for approx 1.5 hours before class. This is because we’ll be doing lots of twists and folds and it can feel a bit uncomfortable with a full stomach. If you really need to eat then opt for something like soup or some fruit. Please drink lots of water during the day to stay hydrated though.

Do I need to book?

Spaces are often limited so please book in advance to confirm your mat. Bookings are made through the Momoyoga website or app. You can also email, call or text to reserve your place. Please note that the class will only go ahead with a minimum of two people.

I have an injury/medical condition, can I still do yoga?

Please discuss this directly by emailing jess(at)thepopupyogacompany(dot)com or by calling +41 77 970 22 84. Yoga can be very beneficial for many injuries but it’s always best to seek advice first. This also applies if you’re pregnant.

How much does a class cost?

You can find the price list under the weekly timetable. Community classes are donation based, please just pay what you can afford. Your first class is just CHF 20 and after that you can take advantage of the intro offer of 3 classes for CHF 50. If you’re coming to a couple of classes a week it’s definitely best to get a 6 month unlimited pass. Student discount is available. Guests of Maison d’Ammann B&B can also benefit from student rates.

How long are 10 class passes valid for and can I extend them?

They’re valid for 5 months. You can pick your start date when you purchase them. If you want to extend a pass then you’ll need to buy a new pass at the same time. For example, if you have 2 expired classes on a pass, then if you buy a new 10 class pass you’ll be able to use the 2 expired ones again and you’ll have another 5 months to do that, along with your 10 new classes.

Can I use the CHF 20 first class offer for any class?

Yes, you can, although you can only use it at Yoga Luna if it’s your first time there.

I’m interested in collaborating with you…

Amazing - send over some more details and let’s chat.

Can I book you for a private event?

Most definitely. Call or email and we can talk about this.

Do you only teach in Switzerland?

All regular weekly classes are in Fribourg, Switzerland as it’s ‘home’ but workshops and events are often further afield. I’m always happy to travel for the right opportunities and collaborations. Keep your eyes peeled during 2019 for retreats, wellness weekends and bigger events worldwide.
